Is a journey I chose to take with my Man and know, with support from ladies like your selfs and my FAITH
      Will get me through
      This test of faith

  • The website is Awesome! Great Job….I know God is pleased with the vessel He has chosen for this special assignment!
It takes a Strong Special Woman to continue this journey and press forward through good and bad times, yet keep it real and relevant. I’m so full of joy and proud of the accomplishments made.

  • God, is truly amazing! I’m so grateful to be apart of such a wonderful group; however, I’m even more proud of the vision you’ve created, and manifested to reflect your talents, passion, etc. Peace ‘n Blessings to you my friend.

  • This is GREAT…thank you Darlene for thinking to do this in a sophisticated manner. I’ll be at the seminar on the 29th!!! Can’t Wait!!!!!

  • God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I am fulfilling what I believe is my God given purpose to represent Lifers at their parole consideration hearings and litigating their Writ of Habeas Corpus Petitions when they are denied parole. I am honored to have been asked to be a member of the Ten Toes In Board of Directors.

Moreover, I am so proud of you Darlene for saying yes Lord I am here when many have closed the door or hung the phone. God richly blesses those who reach out to those who are hurting, alone, lost, and seeking someone to care and lend a helping hand. Your commitment and dedication to bring your vision into fruition and honor God by empowering and uplifting women from all walks of life as they take the journey with “Ten Toes In” is a powerful testimony and “you ain’t seen nothing yet.” You go sista girl 😉

  • It’s rare that one sees a crack underneath the surface and decides to fill it in. Yet that’s exactly what you’ve done Darlene. Many women, like myself, that are involved with incarcerated men lack support by their peers & in general. You’ve created a safe space for us through support, education, encouragement & empowerment. I thank you for it, for creating this foundation, for support and encouragement along this journey. I’m very proud of you and elated to attend the next seminar January 29th! Looking forward to it!
    Be Blessed!

  • What an amazing website and an awesome organization. Darlene, I am so very proud of you. This will inspire and uplift women that are in these situations, that they are not alone. Many blessing and much continued success. Again, I can’t express enough how proud I am, you are paving the way.

  • Hello Happy to hear about you and this site. I know I could use all the support and like women to talk to. No one knows but one of us. My man has been locked up for 35 years. We have been married for 2 years Valentines Day. Blessings to you and all of us on this special journey. V

  • Sister, you have come full circle. I’m so proud of you! Life is constantly presenting opportunities for growth and we have the choice to take the lesson or repeat the pain. Your passion and desire to offer support to women involved with incarcerated men shows that you chose to receive the lesson! The loving and sometimes painful experience you went through for eight years, served as a launching pad for “Ten Toes In”. You turned your years of loyalty, dedication, blood, sweat and tears into a positive outlet for others. Ten Toes In is Romans 8:28 in action…”And we know that all things work together for good to those that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. You love the Lord, you are called to this purpose and you are walking it out! The best is yet to come!!!!!

  • Attended my first “Ten Toes In” seminar last night! What an amazing organization and inspirational evening. Although I have never been involved with an incarcerated man. This event gave me perspective into my own life and relationships…. It is so refreshing to see women empowering each other instead of tearing each other down. Good well done Ten Toes In Sistas!!!

  • My mom’s “Ten Toes In” organization is uplifting and encouraging in helping women to be strong in prison relationships. “Ten Toes In” is helping the world realize that people in jail or prison are still people and not numbers. I wish “Ten Toes In” lots of success and I am proud of my mom for starting this organization to help other people.

  • Although I have never been involved with an incarcerated man, your seminar provided me with insight into the strength needed to embark on a “ten in toes” journey. May God bless you on yours.

  • Attending this workshop Open my eyes to To a different part of life. And I am so grateful that I had the chance to experience it. Attending this workshop challenge me and confirm some things.

  • Great vision and purpose Darlene! Our sistahs need assistance and encouragement in many areas of their life, and you have stepped up to meet their need. Often times, when a woman loves a man who is going through the challenges of incarceration, she feels alone and judged concerning the choice she made of remaining by his side. TTI offers women and men support, valuable information, and insight on evaluating your relationship, and offers a safe place to discuss your feelings, without being judged. Congratulations on your seminar! It was informative and enlightening.

  • “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Darlene, my cousin, once again, you have made me so proud! God has blessed you with the vision of “Ten Toes In” to be a blessing to women who needs direction with life’s journey while their husband or boyfriend is incarcerated. It seems like yesterday when you and I were talking about your vision to start an organization like “Ten Toes In.” I see your passion and commitment. I have read how you have been a blessing to the women who have attended your seminar. You have made a safe haven for women of all walks of life.
It is in God’s plan. You are doing exactly what He wants you to do; to be a blessing to others. The seed has been planted.
“See yourself in the future. You are ROYALTY!”

  • Darlene, I’m so honored to see you go forward, in the assignment the lord has put in your heart! Ten Toes In helps bring clarity in the process of the journey. Ten Toes In is a group for Women to find shelter in the times of trouble! Keep up the good work!

  • The manifestation of Ten Toes In is a blessing, not only for the strong women that partake in the seminars, but the incarcerated men they represent. The organization is a very necessary tool for so many and is much appreciated. I personally see Darlene as a chosen leader of a changing society. Her organization gives a positive perception of these women which is very important and encourages them along the way. So many depend on the Ten Toes In support and this last seminar was just another confirmation of that! Darlene’s efforts and desires to educate the public is to be commended. I am honored to have been chosen as a Board member among such a great team of mentors. She is not only my sister, but my inspiration to assist and inspire others. May God continue to bless all your endeavors as well as those you reach out to help. Darlene, You are an angel!

  • I came by to say I am grateful to see this website in support of women that are involved with incarcerated men. I at one time was involved with an incarcerated man. We were to be married the day after he was sentenced, but he was transported prior to our wedding. unfortunately there was no support group like this then (1994) and I gave in to my family pressure and did not stay with him. I am still in contact with him and am still helping him to try to gain parole, and wish I were closer to attend a seminar. God bless you all for what you are doing and I wish you all the best. Stay strong and be the supporting woman he needs, that I was not able to be…

  • I thoroughly enjoyed the Ten Toes In Seminar. I was blessed by the transparency of speakers. Wow! I was impressed, enlightened, and informed all at the same time. Most people don’t know how much a person must go through just to spend a very short amount of time with someone so dear to them…I left with the thought that every visit is a chance taken, a risk made on behalf of another human being. I am impressed by the commitment and compassion of the women and men who do this week-in and week-out. Many could not endure it. My hat goes off to Darlene Burke. God Bless you and your ministry, because truly that’s what it is…Ministry!

  • Your seminars are a blessing for so many individuals and their families!! Keep up the fantastic work and may God continue to bless you and ‘Ten Toes In’

  • I am looking forward to developing a great support group bond with these ladies. Finally, I know that I am not alone when it comes to women who have a special bond with a someone who is incarcerated. I was so happy to speak with Darlene and Linda after the Save our Sons meeting.

  • So excited to have come across this site today via FB. There is an urgent and important need in this society for others to stop judging those of us who love men in prison and start becoming interested in educating themselves about those men and the criminal injustice system we have in this country. Unfortunately one does not open their minds and hearts till someone they love goes to prison. Unfortunately, THAT is the life changing event that finally resonates with mainstream America about why you don’t stop loving those behind bars or even open your hearts to them in a way you never would have before. IF we could achieve this, we could then begin to make some progress on the Death Penalty and the true state of the corruption and abuse that is our “justice” and prison system. Thank you Darlene, for this small step in the right direction. I am 10 Toes In!

  • What an honor to have met you over the phone Darlene!!!! God is soooooo good!!! He works all things out for the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose!!! Praise God for the way He orchestrates His will! I admire the call you have responded to!!! What a blessing and honor that God would hand you this mantle! Not many can answer the call you have responded to….I praise the Lord for your life Darlene! Thank you for being the woman of God that you are and for making an impact in the lives of so many! God Bless you my sister! Looking forward to meeting you soon!

  • Your website is awesome and very informative. I love it!! I’m so proud of my girl Darlene. You’ve always been an inspiration to me. I can see this orgranization you have created with God’s grace will do a lot of good.

  • I just found this site I’m so excited to learn more. I have a son in prison and I’m feeling alttle lost right now. I know everything happens for a reason. I know God led to this site and with his grace. I will be found and lost no more.

  • I’m looking at your site and I’m very impressed. I was a lifer in the California prison system serving 31 years. I’ve been home almost 3 years. I can definitely relate to your mission and I respect what you are doing. I’m going to try to make it to one of your events. Your cause is truly worthy. There are a lot of men in prison who need the support and who are definitely deserving of a second chance. GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!

    With Respect,
    Ray Ford

  • 2.3 million American adults are in prisons and jails. Most will be released and most will need to rely heavily on family and friends as they face numerous barriers in the often lonely, daunting work of reentering society. Many thanks to Ms. Burke and Ten Toes In for their efforts to make this journey less lonely, less daunting, and more hopeful for both those leaving prison and those waiting for them.

  • What an amazing vision , to focus on helping women who have healthy relationships be a pillar for their husbands in prison. God bless you.

  • Darlene,
Thank you for embracing your PASSION and “Making A Difference” for so many people. You are AMAZING!
    Sending you,
Peace ~ Love & Many Blessing

  • It was a blessing to meet Darlene. Just to know that there is somewhere for women to go to .That have a loved one in trouble. At the time my husband was in prison I lived a doublelife. One inside with him the other outside with the world. Know one ever knew the life in which I was really living. I was I thought alone. But THANK JESUS CHRIST HE was my ROCK and MY HIDEING PLACE. So I pray this ministry will truly help those who seek love and understanding while going through there journey. Blessings and love to Darlene and all those who need to know someone is there with them
